2001-2008 UPDATED TO THE PRESENT,

meaning the readjustment of a text originally drafted for a CD made in 2001, now converted into a print version. By and large, the arrangement is the same, with the legitimate extension of a foreword to a book to be read rather than viewed on a computer screen. In terms of the “seasons” of Rizzato’s painting, this interval seems to me to have coincided with a further “polishing” of the arts of narrating and deluding, and also of emphasizing the three-dimensional effect and consequently of hiding the regularity of the weft, the interweave of grilles from which the image emerges, an overlapping or disclosure of layers that bring into play, as in a theatrical backcloth – but this is an explicit reference to an earlier experience of stage design by Rizzato – the variability of a starting image, of a module, to adopt terminologies by now acquired, in the suggestion of further metamorphoses.
To grasp the sense of this metamorphosis of images it might be advisable to adopt a “logical”, rather than a “chronological” approach to those selected for the occasion.
